Training Notes for this week.
Monday and Thursday as usual meet at Iona Centre at 6.55pm for a nice easy run for 5miles generally. The route is decided on the night. Monday is very popular so lets get the Thursday run back up to where it belongs as a well attended run.
Tuesday and Wednesday – meet at Iona Centre at 6.50pm or at Speaker Connolly car park at 7.10pm.
In the build up the Raheny 5 mile race , we are on the same session as last week. So 2 x 20mins tempo. The lead group ( or anyone if you wish) can extend the second one to 25mins. This is becoming a popular session so continue to work those groups and share the pace.
Craig’s group will be doing these sessions so please look out for these runners amongst your group and help them along. They will need encouraging as they adjust to the intensity. There is also a few new members around so give them plenty of help and encouragement .
Tierney’s Tempo Saturday – as usual meet at Marlay Park at 9am , warmed up and ready to run. Make this run part of your New Year’s resolutions.
Long Run Sunday. Fantastic to see so many post about Sunday runs on the Facebook page. Keep them coming guys. And please don’t be afraid to join one of these runs if you haven’t been on a Sunday run before. Always options to cut short or add miles to any of these runs.
Training Committee will be meeting in the next week or so to plan the next block of training. If you want to have a say, please contact us, or come along to the meeting. We will post time, date and venue when we decide it.
