Monday and Thursday – Easy run nights. Meet just before 7 at Iona Centre. Ready to run at 7pm sharp. Route and group decided on the night. Usually a minimum of 5 miles at conversation pace. Let’s get the numbers back up for the New Year.
Tuesday and Wednesday – Meet at Iona Centre at 6.50pm or at Speaker Connolly car park at 7.10pm ( you must be warmed up if you are meeting at the car park)
With the eye on Raheny 5miler at the end of January, we are on Tempo runs, so it is 2 x 20 mins. We will run the usual loop up the Firhouse Road to The Old Mill and back in the Dodder Valley walkway. The pace is your own Tempo pace so it is not 5k pace. A bit slower than your 10k pace for most of us. If you raced the cross country on Sunday, be careful if the legs are a little heavy and stiff.
On these sessions try to work in a group.
Tierney’s Tempo Saturday – usual meet up at 9am in Marlay . Ready and warmed up , to start at 9.
Get the entry in for Raheny. It is the first big road race of the year and we want a large turnout. It is also the first club Championship counting race of the year.
We omitted to announce the winners of last year’s Championship at the party.
Men’s Champion – Colm Costello Women’s Champion – Sinead Tighe
There will be a full post about this during the week . But for the moment well done Colm and Sinead.
Further information on this year’s races and rules will follow after the Training Committee meeting in the coming weeks.
